Jeffrey D. Wagaman, Ph.D.
Dr. Jeffrey D. Wagaman has a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Washington State University. He has been trained to work with a diverse client population including adults, children, adolescents, families, couples, and groups. He works with a variety of client problems including, but not limited to, depression/bipolar and other mood disorders, anxiety issues, marital problems, post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD), sexual abuse, adolescent behavior problems, men's issues, adult attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), anger difficulties, pre-marital counseling, and psychotic disorders. He also provides diagnostic evaluations/testing for adult AD/HD. Dr. Jeff Wagaman has been in private practice in Olympia, Washington since 1994 and is the president and founder of Cascade Counseling. Dr. Wagaman has been licensed in the State of Washington since 1992.       
In addition to private practice, Dr. Jeff Wagaman's experience includes five years with the U.S. Army where he was Chief of Mental Health and Consultation Services, and Chief of Psychology Services. He also, for several years, was a counselor for troubled adolescents and a youth pastor.
Dr. Jeff Wagaman is an understanding, effective and sought after Psychologist. His therapeutic approach is tailored to meet the needs of each client, but tends towards cognitive-behavioral with Biblical and supportive (Rogerian) foundations. In addition to therapy, Dr. Jeff Wagaman is a well-known speaker on marriage, depression, anxiety, and other topics.

Sarah Chickering, PhD 
Sarah Chickering, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and earned her doctorate from Seattle Pacific University. She specializes in individual psychotherapy and has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of several mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, marital conflicts, spiritual struggles, women's issues, and bereavement. She has expertise in assisting others to heal from loss with particular strengths in working with clients who have traumatic grief, such as losing a loved one to suicide, violent deaths, and miscarriage.
Dr. Chickering's background includes working in student counseling centers, community mental health agencies, and employment conducting neuropsychological evaluations for mild brain injury and learning disability/ADHD concerns. Dr. Chickering's approach to treatment is humanistic but also employs Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral techniques. Dr. Chickering is an empathic and effective therapist who collaborates with her clients to work through problems.
In addition to her clinical responsibilites, Dr. Chickering researches and presents on topics such as forgiveness, religious doubt, and spiritual suffering. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society for the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality,

Susan Wagaman, M.A., LMHC
Susan (Sue) Wagaman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Olympia, WA. She recieved her Master's degree from Argosy University in Seattle. Sue has lived in the Olympia area since 1993 with her husband, Dr. Jeff Wagaman, and their six children. She has participated as a presenter at multiple conferences and events on the subject of marriage, relationships, self-worth, exercise, health, and child rearing practices.Susan Wagaman has also participated as a leader in parenting classes and group therapy for teenage girls.
Sue enjoys counseling a wide range of populations including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She believes the client and therapist should work together as a team towards the goals decided upon in therapy. Her desire is that all clients feel understood and respected. Susan endeavors to facilitate a healthy environment that encourages growth and change.

Katie Smigaj has a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin's University. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in relationship issues, sexual issues, sex therapy, anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anger management, and emotional management difficulties. Katie utilizes a Systems perspective in therapy to acknowledge how family dynamics shape each individual as well as Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution based approaches. Along with private practice, Katie worked with the Institue for Family Development for 4 years doing in home therapy for families involved with Child Protective Services. Katie grew up in the Olympia area and enjoys running, snowboarding and drawing in her spare time.

Stephanie Smith, MA, LMFT
Stephanie has a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin's University. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience treating children, adolescents, families, men, women, and couples. Stephanie works with a variety of client problems including, but not limited to, depression/bipolar and other mood disorders, anxiety issues, marital/relationship problems, postpartum anxiety and depression, grief issues, personality disorders, and conversion disorder. Stephanie has significant experience treating teens dealing with suicidal ideation/attempts, anxiety, depression, cutting, self harm, and behavior problems. She has received significant training from the Gottman Institute and is a certified instructor for The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work by John Gottman. Stephanie has taught classes for anxiety using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure techniques. She has received foundational training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT) and has previously worked on a DBT team, providing both individual DBT therapy and facilitating several DBT skills classes. She incorporates CBT , DBT, Mindfulness, Exposure, Motivational Interviewing and a Systems approach in her work with clients. Thomas R. Yarber, MS, RN, ARNP 
Tom Yarber has a Master of Science in Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Post Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from Clarkson College in Omaha, NE.  He recently joined Cascade Counseling with diverse experience with adult inpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment.  Tom has extensive outpatient behavioral health experience providing medication management for adults and adolescents.  His primary duties at Cascade Counseling include psychiatric medication evaluations and ongoing outpatient medication management.  Tom has treated depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, addictions, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and psychotic disorders.   Mr. Yarber has been licensed in the State of Washington since 2017.Prior to joining Cascade Counseling, Tom Yarber’s experience included twenty-eight years with the U.S. Army as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
